Morgan Library and the College of Business
Worked with Librarians in Research and Development to create user-friendly access to digital collections. And with some overlap the College of Business IT department designing and building the prototype of the iTeach web portal.
This website offers access to over 13,000 digital images from the University Historic Photograph Collection. The digital collection represents a small portion of the total 500,000 prints and negatives found in the entire collection. I enjoyed working with the archived images to produce the banner and develop the php web site to display sample galleries. This site is a portal to the digital archives, allowing accessibility to the patrons.
The biennial invitational poster exhibition is unique to this university. Posters from each event are archived in the library's digital database. I used php to display the poster and information about the artist. The design is based on the idea of minimalism and allowing the poster to display without distraction from the background. A random poster is displayed on the homepage for dynamic interest and accessibility. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture, but kept the logo I designed.
One of the oldest college newspapers in the West, the Rocky Mountain Collegian was launched as a monthly in December of 1891. I studied the imagery from the early editions and created a nostolgia look that expresses the early newspaper style and people that made the news. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture
Each new factory of the Great Western Sugar Company quickly became the hub of the agricultural community in which it was built. The Great Western Sugar Company, incorporated on February 27, 1905, was the dominant producer of Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska beet sugar for over sixty years.
The images on this website represent a small sample of the materials found in the Records of the Great Western Sugar Company, preserved in the Agricultural and Natural Resources Archive of the Colorado State University Libraries.
One of the unique and outstanding holdings of the Archives and Special Collections Department is a set of hand-drawn maps executed by a young Army lieutenant named Caspar Collins, depicting camps and stations once found in areas of the Western Plains.
This collection originally emerged to support research conducted as part of the Germans from Russia in Colorado Study Project, which was active at Colorado State University under Dr. Heitman's direction in the late 1970's. The current Web site design, completed August 2008, is by Larry Wilson. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture.
Myra Monfort and William Runyan are working with the Colorado State University Libraries Archives and Special Collections Department to build a collection of primary source materials for music scholars. The collection will focus on music theory, history and reference works of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This web site that I designed and built will make these rare holdings more accesible. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture
Wildlife Damage Management
This Web site presents an overview of the wildlife damage problem in the United States and does not attempt to duplicate materials found on other wildlife damage management sites. I redesigned the 50 page website and transfered the content.
Colorado Agriculture Rural Life
Colorado's Agricultural College, a land-grant institution later renamed Colorado State University, offered academic programs in farming, ranching, and home economics where students could earn a practical agricultural education. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture.
Colorado Cooperative Extension
This archival collection contains over 3000 reports which document aspects of rural life, the training and events offered by various county agents, advancements in farming techniques, the development of recreational activities, and much more. Worked with the archival documents to create a web representation of this material and provided easy access. The Morgan Library has recently brought the archive under different architecture.
I designed and created mockups in Abobe Illustrator, styled sharepoint webparts and built a prototype website with XSLT and XML. The College of Business has recently brought the portal under different architecture
Explore Nature, National Park Service
Worked with National Park Service staff to maintain user-friendly web pages at the Explore Nature section of the www.NPS.Gov.

Hydrographic & Impairment Statistics
This is a detail from the HIS database. I added the ajax and ColdFusion based menu. Select the category or parent impairment and the menu populates the specific or child. When the Submit button queries the database and the results to populate the display table.
Environmental Contaminents Encyclopedia
Edited, rewrote and rebranded the Contaminant Encyclopedia web site. The encyclopedia contains 118 entries; each entry is a separate file. The topics include different chemicals, chemical combinations, and a few related topics. Combination entries include various mixtures such as petroleum products.
As part of the National Park Service's efforts to improve park management through the greater reliance on scientific knowledge, the Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Program coll ects, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes natural resource data and information, and provides the results in a variety of useful formats.
The orginal web site did not conform to NPS Inventory and monitoring guidelines or section 508 compliance. I distilled complex scientific information into easy an easy to navigate flow.
The purpose of these State of the Park reports is to:
Provide to visitors and the American public a snapshot of the status and trend in the condition of a park's priority resources and values;
Summarize and communicate complex scientific, scholarly, and park operations factual information and expert opinion using non-technical language and a visual format;
Highlight park stewardship activities and accomplishments to maintain or improve the State of the Park;
Identify key issues and challenges facing the park to help inform park management planning.
I produced a few of the web site versions of the of State of the Parks.
